Georgianne Smith MBACP
Integrative Counsellor | Dip.Couns
Hello and welcome to
the therapy nest
I’m Georgianne and I’m an experienced Integrative Counsellor offering a safe and supportive space in the heart of Tring.
At the heart of my work is the belief that connection is a powerful catalyst for change. When we feel safe, accepted, and understood, new possibilities can emerge. Counselling provides the opportunity to build this kind of connection, one that can help you make sense of your experiences, discover your strengths, and move towards growth and healing.
I believe meaningful change begins with feeling truly seen and heard.
My aim is to offer a supportive space where you feel safe to explore what matters most to you. I’m here to support your growth at a pace that feels right for you, offering a steady and compassionate presence as we navigate change together.
Both my extensive training and my lived experiences shape the way I work. I understand how complex, painful and confusing life can feel - through trauma, loss, bereavement, pregnancy loss, parenthood, addiction, and family relationships that don’t always meet our needs.
As a parent-carer, I bring a personal understanding of neurodiversity, particularly ASD, PDA and ADHD. I work in a way that is neurodiversity-affirming, which means I recognise and respect the different ways that people think, feel, and experience the world, as part of the natural diversity of the human experience.
Before private practice, I have worked with charities supporting unpaid carers, helping them navigate the emotional strain, identity shifts, and invisible pressures that caring roles often bring.
Alongside this, I have experience working with individuals who have lived through trauma - including sexual abuse, coercive control, complex family dynamics, low self-esteem, health anxiety and hoarding behaviours.
I work with both adults and young people, offering a safe space to explore difficulties, build resilience, and reconnect with strengths.
My Therapeutic Approach
As an integrative counsellor, I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches including Psychodynamic theory, Transactional Analysis, CBT and Attachment theory while holding person-centred values at the core of my work. This means our sessions are collaborative and will always be tailored to your unique needs and goals.
Types of integrated therapy:
Person Centred Therapy

Attachment Theory
Working in a Neurodiversity-Affirming Way
I work in a way that is neurodiversity-affirming, which means I recognise and respect the different ways that people think, feel, and experience the world, as part of the natural diversity of the human experience.
In our work together, I aim to create a space where you feel accepted exactly as you are. This might include adapting how we work to suit your communication style, sensory needs, or pace. My role is to listen, understand, and support you in exploring your experiences and strengths, while navigating any challenges you may face in daily life.
Whether you identify as neurodivergent yourself, are seeking support for a loved one, or are exploring what neurodiversity might mean for you, you are always welcome here.
