FAQs

  • Each session offers a calm and confidential space that’s entirely yours. You’re welcome to bring whatever feels heavy, confusing, or important, knowing you’ll be met with warmth and understanding. Together, we’ll move gently through what’s on your mind, at a pace that feels safe and comfortable for you.

  • Sessions last 50 minutes and are usually held weekly at the same time. This consistency helps build trust and a sense of safety in our work together.

  • Through counselling, I can support you with a wide range of challenges including anxiety, low mood, loss, trauma, relationships, self-esteem, life events and times of change or uncertainty. I am experienced in working with neurodiversity and work in a neurodiversity-affirming way.

  • The best way to know is for us to have a chat and see how you feel. The free consultation I offer gives you the chance to ask questions and get a feel for whether I’m the right person to support you. If you feel happy, we can go ahead and book our first session together.

  • Yes absolutely! I hold full professional indemnity insurance and have been fully checked by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

  • Payment for your session can be made by bank transfer or cash.

Bank transfers must be made 48 hours before our scheduled session to confirm the appointment.

  • I offer a small number of concessionary spaces for trainee counsellors and those on a lower income. These spaces are limited, but you’re welcome to ask about current availability.

  • At The Therapy Nest, I understand that life can sometimes get in the way of plans. If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, please give at least 48 hours’ notice. Sessions cancelled with less notice may still be charged, though I’ll always do my best to approach this with understanding and flexibility where possible.

Our sessions will be:

  • Confidential

Your sessions are a private and protected space. Everything you share is treated with care and respect, and held in confidence within professional ethical boundaries. This allows you to talk freely, knowing you’ll be heard without judgment.

  • Calm

Each session offers a gentle pause and time just for you. In a calm and supportive environment, you can slow down, reflect, and explore what’s been feeling difficult lately. My aim is to create a sense of safety and steadiness as we work together.

  • Collaborative

Therapy is a collaborative process. I work closely with you, building a trusting and supportive connection, while drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches. Together, we explore challenges, identify goals and find ways forward that feel meaningful and achievable, tailored to your unique needs and pace.
